Rocketflip. This is the CoB cover of the classic Iron Maiden song, "Aces High". Compared to the original they upped the tempo a bit and of course there's more ridiculous guitar and keyboard solos...and harsh vocals. I had to bust out my Alexi V for this one since there's a lot of whammy work. A few mistakes here and there but I was pretty satisfied with this take (and it was the first one, as usual). It's a song that gets me pumped so it's dedicated to a lot of people: my sister, who is having tough exams right now. All the beasts in the UCLA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class who keep kicking my butt and encouraging me to aim higher, and especially those who are going to be competing soon. To Nergal from Behemoth for just getting out of the hospital - I hope you beat your illness! And to anyone else who just needs some energy and drive - keep on keeping on. This was the last cover I planned to do in a while - want to focus more on compositions and playing with my seven-string, but who knows, you might see some more stuff down the road soon.
